“I am a young woman from Eastern Finland who has reached her twenties. I have been interested in arts my whole life although at first I only admired the greats, but then following my mother’s footsteps I started to paint myself.

Self-critique and admiration of the greats slowed down my own painting and the development of my own technique. The serious artistic interest started when I was 16 years old. Animals and people interested me as subjects. I started by mimicking other artists and developed my painting technique that way.

I like painting portraits because they can reveal more than ordinary photographs. My new field of experimentation is graphical drawing, which I have been practising mostly for my own amusement.”
